Bio

Originally from Rochester, New York Grace Frarey is an up-and-coming jazz musician and educator. She holds Bachelor’s Degrees in Applied Jazz Saxophone and Music Teaching and Learning from the Eastman School of Music. While studying with renowned woodwind specialist Charles Pillow Grace learned the nuances of the flute and clarinet. She is now based in Denton, Texas where she is the woodwind instructor at Northwest ISD, Little Elm ISD and the Institute for Creative Music, where she is also the Assistant Program Director. Grace enjoys teaching and learning alongside all of her students using methods that she studied with Dr. Christopher Azzara.
Grace’s passion to learn has led to her participation at many summer music programs. From studying with some of the country’s top jazz artists at the New York State Summer Music Festival to learning classical technique at the Eastman School of Music’s Summer Saxophone Institute, Grace has experience in both the classical and jazz genres. Grace has continued this path of learning through internships with Rockport Jazz Workshop, Tritone Jazz Fantasy Camps, and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra Education Department. She now works as an educator at the Denton Jazz Workshops, and summer band programs for Northwest and Little Elm.
Her passions and recent projects include performing Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition with the Mesquite Symphony Orchestra, playing with the inspiring members of Sol Kitchen at Harvest House, being a member of the Jack Courtright Big Band and IfCM Collective.
